*FOSTORIA  VISIT*

Here are some things that you should know:

1) Fostoria is expecting 40,000 or more people on July 14th which is more than twice the population of Fostoria. This is a FREE event.

2) Parking will be a premium so be prepared to part blocks away and have to walk into the Railpark and the NS center. Parking will be on a first come basis. There will be a free shuttle service to the NS Center

3) Arriving early might seem like a good idea, but people will be sleeping in their cars so don't expect to just drive into the park.

4) Traffic will be heavy so bring lots of patience and leave pets at home as no matter where you go you will have to wait.

5) Restaurants will be packed so maybe bring a lunch with you and plenty of water.

6) It will be a hurry up and wait day so let's make it a wonderful experience for everybody.

7) Big Boy will be travelling West passing by the RailPark Wednesday morning July 15th approx 9:15 am which will provide another chance to see it.

Please be patient as planning meetings wil be help over the next 5 weeks.

Take a spin around the RailPark

Big Boy will be on display from 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM July 14th at the NS Fostoria Mixing Center,

3101 North Township Road 47.

NO PUBLIC ACCESS outside of these hours. 

 The train will leave at 9:00 AM Wednesday July 15th westbound but there are no plans to stop at the RailPark.

NOTE CAMPING DATE CHANGES

There will be NO Camping at the RailPark on July 13 to July 15th inclusive.

   Please make sure to remove your RV, camper, etc. from the Rail Park.

PRELIMINARY PARKING PLANS

These may change but there is a yard that holds 3,000 vehicles, see photo below. That is one choice, however, we will have shuttles that will take you out there, drop you off, and also shuttle you to downtown Fostoria, the Rail Park and back to the parking lot where you originally parked. Information will be forthcoming. We have never had such a large "production" prior and want to make correct decisions.

What type of vehicles are allowed?

All size vehicles at the NS Center.

No motorhomes, house trailers, camper trailers, box vans or pickups with campers at the RailPark

Is there designated parking?

Yes there will designated parking outside of the RailPark. Map will be posted.

Is there a shuttle service?

There will a shuttle service from downtown to the Railpark and to the NS Center.

Can I reserve a parking spot?

Parking will be on a first come basis

What time will it be on display?

Scheduled time is 9:00 am - 3 pm

Where will it stop?

NS Mixing Center (see map above).

Will there be handicap parking spots?

There will be but due to the number of people we are unable to guarantee handicap parking.

Are mobilty scooters allowed?

Yes but trailers to carry them are not are not at the RailPark

Is the event free?

Yes, the event is FREE.

Is camping allowed?

No camping  July 13th to the 15th inclusive

Can I ride the train?

No, safety and railroad rules are in place and only employees can.

Can I fly my drone over the train?

UP asks you do not above the NS Center.

When flying while it is moving you must be at least 25 feet from it at all times

Will there be washrooms available?

Yes, there are two washrooms and a portable toilet available at the RailPark.

There will additional ones at the NS Center.

Can I buy refreshments or food at the park?

Yes as there will be a number of food trucks there.

Can I bring my dog?

We do not suggest it as it will crowded, possible long waits

 and dogs do not do good around loud noises.
